Neck and Shoulder Pain
Neck and Shoulder Pain Video Transcript
Neck pain affects 30 to 50 percent of the population annually and is caused by a variety of stresses including slips and falls, traumatic accidents, chronic repetitive movement and even poor posture. These stresses can lead to inflammation in flexibility and general pain in the neck and shoulder areas. These stresses can cause the muscles to have aggravated trigger points and form adhesions. The nerves and joints may also become inflamed and painful. If not properly cared for the vertebrae in the neck become inflexible, arthritic and progressively even more painful. A safe and effective option for those suffering from chronic neck and shoulder pain is incorporating the use of Erchonia Low Level Laser Therapy. The low level laser is a medical device that has thousands of research papers in the National Library of Medicine documenting clinical success when used to treat hundreds of various pathologies including neck and shoulder pain. How does the Erchonia Laser work? Our cells need energy to function properly, injured cells need even more energy to heal. The energy that your cells need is predominately made in the mitochondria. Mitochondria are known as the powerhouses of the cell. Every cell in the body contains hundreds of mitochondria and some even have thousands of mitochondria inside each cell. When your tissues are injured with muscle strains, bruises, ligament sprain and sore or degenerated joints, the mitochondria are also injured which slows the body’s natural healing process. The Erchonia Low Level Laser is proven by research to help the mitochondria make energy by a process called photobiology, thereby speeding the healing process. The laser beam produces billions of photons that are delivered into living tissue and absorbed by a receptor on the cell membrane. The photon then dispenses an electron into the cell, the electron travels to the mitochondria, which ultimately converts into the ATP energy necessary for a cell to heal and regenerate. Your practitioner knows when using the Erchonia Laser they are offering you the most researched and safest therapeutic laser in the world. The Erchonia Laser received an FDA clearance in 2002 for decreasing pain and inflammation associated with neck and shoulder pain. Your practitioner has received extensive training and is confident that this laser is providing you with the latest technology to help you heal. Research shows many patients feel improvement after just one treatment with a reduction of pain along with an increased range of motion and greater strength. Most patients achieve the best outcome when receiving a program of multiple laser treatments. The laser is also commonly used in combination with spinal adjustments and manual muscle work such as massage or percussion and rehabilitation. Contact your physician today.

Low Back Pain Video Transcript
Low back pain is the most common musculoskeletal injury in the world affecting both men and women equally. Approximately 80% of adults will experience low back pain at some point in their lives. Over 10% of the entire US population experiences back pain annually, accounting for 40% of all days missed from work. If back pain persists for over 12 weeks, it is considered chronic. Back pain also affects quality of life including sleep, time with family, hobbies, work and other enjoyable activities. Common injuries associated with back pain include soft tissue inflammation, spinal degeneration with disc disease, facet syndrome and more. A safe and effective option for those suffering from acute and chronic low back pain is Erchonia Low Level Laser Therapy. Low Level Laser Therapy is a medical healing device that has thousands of research papers in the National Library of Medicine measuring clinical success on hundreds of different pathologies including low back pain. Your practitioner knows when using the Erchonia Laser they are offering their patients the most researched and safest therapeutic laser in the world. The Erchonia Laser has been tested for effectiveness in multiple Level One A studies showing benefit to those suffering from chronic low back pain. The Level One A research study is considered the most reliable evidence of whether a treatment is effective. Participants in the study were unaware of who was receiving an actual laser treatment versus a placebo. There were no other treatments offered during the study such as rehabilitation, adjustments or soft tissue benefits. Only the Erchonia Laser was used for the treatment group and the results are compared to a second group that received only placebo laser treatment in a double-blind format. The results of the study showed a significant benefit to the group that received only the Erchonia Laser. This safe, effective cutting-edge technology is granted an FDA clearance for those suffering from chronic low back pain. When a patient receives a treatment program in the clinic setting, it is customary to integrate this cutting-edge science with other services provided by a clinician. This will give maximum benefit to patients looking for help. How does the Erchonia Laser work? Our cells need energy to function properly and injured cells need even more energy to heal. Foot Pain Video Transcript
The foot is a very complex part of the body. 1/4 of all the bones in the body are in the feet. Along with more than 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments. It is amazing how much we rely on our feet to carry us through daily life and how much we take our feet for granted until the pain of a foot or ankle injury stops us in our tracks. Plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis, metatarsalgia and neuropathy are common diagnoses for those experiencing chronic foot pain. Stabbing foot pain when getting out of bed in the morning or when starting to walk after sitting for a period of time are common complaints from those suffering foot pain. Walking up and down stairs can be excruciating for some and others experience throbbing pain all day long. Often those who suffer from chronic foot pain have created micro tears in muscles and fascia. We begin to realize that time and rest alone are not the answer to the relief we need and turn to seek help. A safe and effective option for those suffering from acute and chronic foot pain is Low Level Laser Therapy. Low Level Laser Therapy is a proven medical treatment which has thousands of research papers in the National Library of Medicine measuring clinical success on hundreds of different pathologies including acute and chronic foot pain. Practitioners know when using the Erchonia Laser they are offering their patients treatment with the most researched and safest therapeutic laser in the world. Low-Level Laser Therapy Process
The process of low-level laser therapy is based on a photochemical reaction in which discrete bundles of energy called photons are absorbed within the visible light spectrum of 380–700nm. The photon induced chemistry ultimately gives rise to the observable effect at the biological level. In order to achieve maximum photobiological effects, Erchonia adheres to the following delivery fundamentals:
- Laser light that is monochromatic and coherent having only one wavelength. Light from LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) cannot achieve the same narrow band of wavelength, instead LEDs produce light that is disorganized or incoherent. Laser light is dramatically more effective in producing photochemical effects than LED. This is evident in over a dozen, double-blind, placebo controlled clinical trials using Erchonia lasers where test subjects established both statistical significance and clinically meaningful results over the placebo group which received LED treatment.
- Laser output under 500mw. Devices with a laser output above 500mw are not LLLT (Low-Level Laser Therapy). Instead, they are classified as High Intensity Laser (HIL) or Class 4 Lasers. These devices are FDA cleared under the ILY product code which started as a heating pad and has expanded to thermal lasers that are intended to “provide topical heating for the purpose of elevating tissue temperature for temporary relief of muscle and joint pain and stiffness, arthritis pain, or muscle spasm, the temporary increase in local blood circulation and/or promoting relaxation of muscle”. The FDA has now made the ILY products 510(k) FDA exempt based on the device requirements of raising skin temperature to 40-45°C. LLLT is a non-thermal process and classified under FDA product code called NHN, powered light-based laser non-thermal instrument with non-heating effect for adjunctive use in pain therapy. Blinded and controlled trials are required for new 510(k) indications. “LLLT delivered at low doses tends to work better than the same wavelength delivered at high levels, which illustrates the basic concept of biphasic dose response or hormesis” (Calabrese 2001b) Fundamentals of Photochemistry
- Lasers within the visible light spectrum of 380-700nm. The primary mechanism for the absorption of visible light photons is the elevation of electrons to higher energy levels through photochemistry. Another type of electromagnetic radiation is infrared (IR) which includes wavelengths higher than 780nm. The infrared light spectrum exhibits strong absorption from vibrations of the water molecule. The result of infrared absorption is heating of the tissue since it increases molecular vibrational activity. Simply, while visible light can produce photochemical effects, infrared only produces molecular rotations and vibrations.
